The cuckoos are a family, Cuculidae, of near passerine birds. The cuckoos are generally medium sized slender birds. Cuckoos don't bother making their own nests. Instead, they lay their eggs in other bird's nests. This way cuckoos do not have all the hard work of looking after their own chicks -other birds do it for them!
Most birds take minutes to lay an egg. The mother cuckoo can lay an egg in 9 seconds ! This allows her to quickly pop it in the nest of another bird.
